Heal-Teach Schools: Innovative Educational Program

Demonstration School Proposal

 Heal-Teach to Empower Inc.’s conceptual model provides an innovative approach to educational programs highlighting simultaneous support of academic and socio-emotional growth and exemplary support for teachers and staff.  Our goal is to acquire the sponsorship of a demonstration school to serve as a model of this approach which can be replicated in other private, public charter, and traditional public schools.   
 
The Integrated Framework for Student and Teacher Self-Efficacy is the catalyst for our educational program design in which instructional activities are infused with moments of self-reflection and restoration. Texts and fine arts experiences are central to thematic units and repeatedly explored by students in whole group, small group, and individual activities to codify knowledge across content areas into meaningful learning experiences. Literacy-based, arts-infused thematic units will also serve as a vehicle through which students with disabilities and English language learners are provided equitable access to information and means of expression thus increasing their self-efficacy and fostering resilience.  
 
Exemplary support for teachers and staff is designed to provide higher wages, on-campus spaces, and tools for wellness activities, and access to resources that are expected to enhance their quality of life. Research suggests that teachers and staff who are empowered in such ways demonstrate increased self-efficacy and in turn are better equipped to do the same for their students and the communities in which they serve. We seek to fund these initiatives through Federal grant opportunities partnerships with teacher advocate organizations, endowments for the arts, advocates for exceptional education support and other philanthropic partnerships.  
 
Our political climate is desperate to realize increased choice in educational programs as well as the mending of traditional school systems which stretch for academic achievement while exasperating the stressors on teachers and children. The success of our nation as an innovator and producer of competitive markets and valuable human capital depends on it.
